All orthodontic problems can be corrected using metal braces, and their only disadvantage is that they are visible; however, modern metal braces are designed to be much more discreet and comfortable than in the past. The appearance does not concern most adults; in fact, many prefer to show them off by choosing to have coloured elastics.
